# Bring the order history

> Optional: list each old order under its subscription, and carry its billing cycle.

OPENSUBS PLATFORM

optional

The migration itself never needs your orders: they are Shopify orders, already in your store, and the portal shows each subscriber their history either way. What the orders import adds is the connection. With it, the OpenSubs admin and the account area list each old order under the specific subscription it belonged to, and the subscription knows its current billing cycle (how many renewals it has taken since it began), instead of counting from migration day.

It creates no contracts and changes no billing. It only connects records that already exist.

**1. Export orders from the old app**

* The same dashboard that exported your subscriptions exports orders too: Skio, Recharge, and Loop each have one, and the upload screen shows the exact path for each provider.
* Loop's export is two report files, uploaded together, and it connects only if the migration kept Loop's Subscription ID as the external subscription id.
* Grab it in the same sitting as your subscriptions export, before the old app is uninstalled.

**2. Upload it**

* On **Settings > Migration**, choose the orders import and upload the file. It runs any time after your subscriptions have migrated.
* Each order matches to a migrated subscription through the same provider IDs the migration already recorded. Orders that match nothing are listed, not guessed at.
* Unmatched orders can also mean the initial store import hasn't finished; connect again after it finishes. A failed import raises the **Store import failed** alert: [When an alert opens](https://docs.opensubs.com/platform-v2/run/when-an-alert-opens.md).

> [!TIP]
>
> **Checkpoint:** pick one migrated subscription. Its old orders are listed under it in the admin and in the portal, and its billing cycle matches reality.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Skipping it is fine.** Without the orders import, nothing is lost or hidden: subscribers still see their full order history in the portal (it comes from Shopify), and every renewal from migration day forward attaches to the new subscription on its own. The only difference is that each subscription's own list, and its billing cycle count, starts at the migration.
